Graduate Certificate Application Process

Students apply to the Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics or Cyber Security through the URI Department of Computer Science by submitting an online graduate application to URI's Graduate School by July 30th .

Graduate School Application

  1. Visit the URI Graduate School website and choose to Apply Now!
    • For the College, select "College of Arts & Sciences"
    • For Program Requested select "Digital Forensics Certificate" or "Cyber Security Certificate"
    • The Degree Type and Specialization or Concentration boxes will be auto-filled
    • Enter an Enrollment Term for the upcoming Fall semester
  2. Include in the first line of your personal statement that you are applying to the Graduate Certificate in Digital Forensics or the Graduate Certificate in Cyber Security.
  3. The Graduate Record Exams (GRE) are NOT required for admission to the Graduate Certificate program. However, they are required for admission to the Masters and PhD programs.
  4. Two letters of recommendation are required and can be submitted following the instructions on the "Recommendations" link within the Graduate School application

Residency Form for Rhode Island Residents

Students living in Rhode Island must also submit a residency form to the Graduate School. The form can be found here: http://www.uri.edu/gsadmis/Forms/CertResidency.pdf. Non-Rhode Island residents should not submit this form and continue to the next step.

Official Transcripts

Students must send an official undergraduate transcript. The official undergraduate transcript can be mailed to:
