Information and Resources for Minor Students

In addition to the general information provided to all students, below is information specific to minors.

I want to start classes to complete the minor. What do I do next?

After reviewing the information on the website, you should ask any additional questions to forensics@dfcsc.uri.edu for digital forensic questions or security@dfcsc.uri.edu for cyber security questions. Once all answers have been provided, you should fill out an Interest form.

I have filled out the Interest form. Now what?

Once you fill out the Interest form, it will be reviewed by the advisor and you will receive an acceptance email. You will then make a plan with your advisor using one of the following worksheets:

Who is my advisor?

The advisor for the Digital Forensics minor is Dr. Fay-Wolfe and his email address is vfaywolfe@uri.edu. The advisor for the Cyber Security minor is Dr. DiPippo and her email address is ldipippo@uri.edu

Do I need to meet with my advisor?

You should meet with your advisor once every semester to discuss your progress and future plans.

What must I do when I am ready to graduate and have completed the minor?

Complete the Minor Field of Study form that must be submitted with the Intent to Graduate Form prior to graduation. Send the completed form to info@dfcsc.uri.edu to have it signed and returned to you for inclusion with your graduation packet.
